Grenada’s Rich & Historic Factories (Chocolate & Rum)

Exploring Grenada’s various rum and chocolate factories is an excellent way to learn about our natural, unspoiled, and historic sites. These locations tend to offer tours and sampling, making them ideal for those interested in historical customs and practices as well as unique, delightful goods that cannot be found elsewhere. 

Diamond Chocolate Factory 

The Diamond Chocolate Factory is a 45-minute scenic trip up the coast. This chocolate factory is the home of Jouvay Chocolate and also manufactures cocoa powder and cocoa butter. Diamond Chocolate Factory offers several tours, including a factory tour and tasting as well as an agro-tour of their organic farm. Beverages such as hot chocolate and smoothies are also available within the café. 

River Antoine Rum Distillery 

River Antoine Rum Distillery is located on the north side of the island and was founded in 1785, making it the island’s oldest distillery. Clarke’s Court Rum Distillery 

Clarke’s Court Rum Distillery, located in Woodlands, is a must-see. Visitors can learn about the island’s largest rum distillery from knowledgeable tour guides who will explain the history as well as all the many methods and stages of manufacturing superb rum. Visitors can try many of the rum varieties in a single spot.
